July 9 Breakfast at the Beach

Speaker –Bill Sullivan
Executive Director of Regional Tourism Organization 7

The Networking committee for the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce our next ‘Breakfast at the Beach’ will be on Thursday July 9th from 7:30-9:00am.  The speaker will be Bill Sullivan, Executive Director of the RTO7.  The breakfast will be held at Marlwood Golf and Country Club at 31 Marlwood Ave. Wasaga Beach.

Bill Sullivan is the Executive Director of Regional Tourism Organization 7.  He has worked in the rural tourism industry for more than 35 years.  Bill’s experience includes managing Clevelands House Resort, Taboo, and Christie’s Mill Inn and Spa as well as Muskoka Tourism.  In 2010 he joined RTO7 as a project manager and later directed all marketing activities. Bill became the Executive Director of RTO7 in 2014.
Tourism Region 7 consists of Bruce, Grey and Simcoe County.  RTO7 is an independent not-for profit organization whose mission is to work collaboratively with tourism partners and stakeholders to enrich Region 7’s diverse tourism experiences and to sustain and grow visitation, investment and tourism receipts.  During the past 18 months RTO7 has successfully expanded its partnership opportunities throughout the entire region of Bruce, Grey and Simcoe Counties under the guidance of Bill and the RTO7 team.  These partnerships included the delivery of customer service training, digital marketing, video asset development, experience development education, social media and research as well as acting in advisory roles to many operators and organizations.
Regional Tourism Organization 7, RTO7, has many opportunities for stakeholders to partner with RTO7, access region specific tourism research, customer service training, experience development assistance, and media relations funding.  Bill will provide an overview of these programs as well as a summary of the current BruceGreySimcoe Always In Season marketing campaign and a review of learnings from past campaigns.

The Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Networking Committee are delighted to welcome Bill as our speaker for what we believe will be a very informative talk on Tourism in our area.

To confirm your attendance for this breakfast and to obtain more information, contact Trudie McCrea at the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce at 705-429-2247.

Once again the beautiful sandy beaches of Georgian Bay will supply the backdrop for another tough competition. In 2014 we saw over 800 athletes run a surprise 5k, lift, carry, squat, climb, and balance their way through 4 fun and challenging workouts.

Wasaga Beach is one of Ontario’s premier summer vacation spots with over 14km of pristine sand.
We plan on taking over the beach for 3 days and turning it into the competition of the summer.
