2010 Schedule

This month's Business After 5 will be hosted by Waterside Retirement Lodge at 239 Zoo Park Road, Wasaga Beach.  The event will be on Thursday July 29th from 5:00-6:30pm. 

Waterside Retirement Lodge is designed for comfort and security.  Their pristine Retirement Lodge focuses on outstanding customer service.  They pride themselves on making your retirement years most enjoyable.

All members of the Chamber of Commerce and the Wasaga Beach Women's Business Association will receive "Business After 5 Bucks" for attending this month's After 5.  These Bucks can be used towards this month's auction and/or future auctions.

The Auction prizes for the event will be:

1.  Foot Spa Service- valued at $50.00
2.  Dinner for Two- valued at $30.00

Join us for a fun evening of networking, auction prizes, and great food.  Everyone is welcome: there is no charge to attend and membership is not required.

DETAILS  ABOUT  THE  BUSINESS  AFTER  5  PROGRAM  AND  HOSTING  AN  EVENT

The Business After 5 program, sponsored jointly by the Wasaga Beach Women’s Business Association and the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce, has been initiated in Wasaga Beach to benefit the entire business community. The purpose of these meetings is to provide a low cost networking opportunity to business owners and to provide a healthy business community in Wasaga Beach and the surrounding area. 
Business After 5 meetings are held on the last Thursday of every month, excluding December. All business people and residents are invited to drop in between 5:00 and 6:30pm. There is no cost to attend, and membership in either sponsoring group is not required.  For a schedule of upcoming Business After 5 events visit the following sites: www.wasagainfo.com or www.wasagawomensbusiness.ca 

Information for Hosts:

1) Hosts will be a member in good standing of either sponsoring group.  Host location should be either a commercial, retail, or office location, not a private home.  There is no fee to host a meeting.

2) Home based businesses and/or non-members of sponsoring groups are encouraged to partner with a qualified host.

3) Hosts are responsible for providing light refreshments at their expense (alcoholic beverages should not be served).  On average, there are thirty attendees at the After 5 events.

4) The Host and partnered business owner (if applicable) are invited to make a brief presentation about their business, maximum five minutes, or they can choose to simply introduce themselves.  The remainder of the meeting time is reserved for networking among attendees.

5) Hosts are asked to offer an item for our auction valued at $50-100.  At each After 5 attendees receive $1000 of ‘Business After 5 Bucks’, which they can use to bid on your item or save for future auctions.
 
6) The sponsoring groups will arrange for public service promotion of each month’s Business After location.  These include chamber email/newsletter, WBWBA newsletter, and announcements in upcoming event newspaper/radio columns.  Paid advertising, if desired, should be arranged and paid for by the hosts. 

7) Hosts are required to give at least thirty days notice, if they have to cancel the event.
